MICROBLADING

microblading.jpg

Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow enhancement technique for people who want to reshape, redefine or fill in their eyebrows. This technique is used to create the look of realistic hair strokes by implanting pigment beneath the skin. Microblading can help to add density to existing eyebrow hair or create a completely natural-looking set of eyebrows for those who experience partial or complete hair loss. The eyebrow shape, colour, and texture is fully tailored to each individual client for the most realistic results.

What is Microblading?

An alternative to permanent tattooing, Microblading is a manual application of inserting pigment into the outer layers of the skin, imitating hair strokes.

Through Microblading, your desired eyebrow shape, fullness and color are achieved. The effect of Microblading can last up to 18 months, after which time the pigment fades and your Microblading procedure can be repeated.

+ The Process

The appointment starts with a pre-draw, taking into consideration your goals for your eyebrows. We work together to agree upon the overall shape and perfect color before we begin Microblading process.

Your brows will be be treated with a topical numbing agent both before and during the Microblading to minimize discomfort.

Your eyebrows will be fully healed within 28 days following your Microblading session. However, the visible top layer of your skin heals within 14 days. After your initial appointment, a 6-8 week “perfecting session” is needed to evaluate your healed brows and complete the 2-step process. Your brows will be set for the next 12 to 18 months!

+ Aftercare

  • GENTLY wash your brows with gentle soap 2x/day
  • Apply a THIN layer of healing balm or cream after washing
  • No makeup on the brows for at least 14 days.
  • No sweating, excessive heat, steam or sun exposure for 14 days. Additionally no swimming, saunas, or sunbed tanning. You MUST refrain from working out and sweating (even a little) to prevent the salt & oils from damaging your pigment or creating a cloudy/powdered effect.
  • NO anti-aging products or facial products containing Alpha Hydroxyls (AHA’s), Retin-A, Lactic Glycolic Acids, or exfoliants for 6-8 WEEKS after your initial procedure and 4 weeks after your touch-up.
  • No facials, botox, chemical treatments, or microdermabrasion for at least 6-8 WEEKS after your initial procedure and 4 weeks after your touch-up **more detailed aftercare will be provided after appointment

+ Healing Schedule

  • Day 1: Brows will look finely detailed and crisp. Color may appear dark (50% darker than healed). Expect light to moderate swelling and redness.
  • Days 2-4: Brows will darken as scabs begin to form as skin's natural exfoliation takes place. The scabs will be raised and darker version of each hair stroke, or a thicker scab for powder/combo brows.
  • Days 5-7: Scabs will begin to flake off. DO NOT PICK. This may create patchiness or scarring.
  • Days 8-10: Skin under scabs will appear lighter in color until the color clarifies. For the next few days, the color may now be lighter than what the final color will be.
  • Days 11-28: Your body will develop a new layer of skin over the tattoo. Brow color will begin to come back, but may be a little patchy or uneven in tone
  • Days 30+: Brows will continue healing until your 6-8 week touch up session where we can perfect any color issues.

Combo Brows

Combo brows uses the microblading method to create “little hairs” but also uses a shading technique for more density. This look will still appear natural and but it will be darker and fuller.

Since microblading alone will never give you the “makeup look”, implementing shading with the strikes, you can say goodbye to that eyebrow pencil. Additionally, shading typically lasts longer than Microblading as it uses more pigment throughout the eyebrow. If you are looking for longevity with less touch-ups combo brows would be the recommended method.

***Please see processes aftercare & healing drop downs above for information

POWDER BROWS

Powder Brows (micro-shading) are designed to give your brows a full “powdered look” with out having to apply makeup every day. The powder method is recommended for people with oily skin and those who want to achieve a makeup affect. It is placed by a tattoo machine, using a megapixel effect made up of thousands of tiny dots of pigment, gradually building up color and a defined shape. It is still considered semi-permanent as we are staying in the epidermis layer, and can last up to 18 months. There are many names for this look; powder brow, ombre brow, shaded brow, the list can go on but its all the same.

Saline Tattoo Removal

Saline removal is a safe, tested and natural pigment lightening solution safe for permanent makeup on the face and small body tattoos. This solution binds to the pigments, breaks them down and draws them out of the skin. Lightening and/or removing unwanted pigment is a long process and patience is required. This is true whether you are choosing a lightening service or a laser. Please be patient and give the process a fair chance to work. Expect visible results in 2-5 sessions. The amount of sessions needed will depend on how saturated the pigment is, how deep it was implanted and how much needs to be removed for the desired result. In many cases only a percentage of the pigment needs to be lightened/removed for the desired result/to be covered.

During and immediately after the procedure you may see a small amount of bleeding, this is normal and necessary for creating the “controlled scab.” For the first 24 hrs the skin may appear bright red and gradually begin to scab. During days 2-4 a scab will be present and eventually fall off naturally. The scabbing process is highly important and will contain the pigment that has surfaced from the procedure. After the scab falls off, the skin may appear pink or discolored for a couple of weeks before returning to its original shade by week 4. Sometimes pigment that has spread underneath the skin may rise to the surface before coming out completely. In these cases, it may appear that the tattoo has “bled” to surrounding tissue. This is all part of the process and will be addressed during future sessions. It is important to remember that saline removal is a process! Desirable results take an average of 3-6 sessions depending on the depth and pigment of the unwanted tattoo, among other factors.

Click a + below to expand the section

+ The Process

  • You will be numbed prior to start and then between passes 1&2 with a secondary anesthetic. *Using a tattoo machine, saline solution will be placed into the old tattoo to lift old color

+ Aftercare

  • Keep area clean and open to air, do not cover with a bandage. You should not be touching the area at all, but wash your hands before you have to.
  • Clean by blotting area with saline 3-4 times a ay using a paper towel.
  • Once all scabs have naturally fallen off, apply vitamin E oil up to 4x/day until the next lift session.
  • Please allow 8 weeks between sessions.

+ What to expect while healing

  • Immediately following your procedure you might be red or bleeding and pigment may appear dark and splotchy.
  • Minimal swelling may occur
  • Stinging/burning is normal as it is quite literally "salt in the wound"
